Hoteli Ilidža

Deep within the calming flora of the great park and monument to unspoiled nature, The Spring of Bosna,
source of healthy thermo-mineral water, the complex "Hoteli Ilidža" was created...

The tradition of steam bath healing used in the complex goes back to ancient Rome, where it was
extensively used for medicine purposes by the Roman doctors, who, knowing the worth of this site,
had the first spa built right here, backed today by archaeological findings.

2000 years have passed since then, but the healthy mineral water, with a source temperature
of 57.5 ºC, has never ceased being a place where the sick come to be cured.
„Medicus curat, natura sanat" - "The doctor administers the cure; nature does the healing" is a saying
fully endorsed at the steam bath health resort "Terme", Ilidža.

The Ottoman Empire continued with the tradition of steam bath healing renaming the site Ilidža.
The name comes from the Turkish Iladž, which stands for cure; providing health.

The bath enjoyed its biggest bloom during the Austro-Hungarian period when it was renovated into
a modern health resort with four parts: Old Spa, New Spa, Little Spa and Mud Spa.

Still today, in the luxurious splendor at the base of mountain Igman, live "Hoteli Ilidža".

The complex is made out of five hotels: "Terme", "Hercegovina", "Austria", "Hungary" and "Bosna".
Also present are the camping apartments "Oaza" including Autocamp and the restaurant "Labud", at the Spring of Bosna.
